About Astoria

Hi, I'm Linka, and I will be doing your Pet Portrait Session!

Like you, I am a pet owner, and love animals.  I can't imagine a life without them. I've had dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, a snake, (until my mom found out), a baby mouse, and I even brought home a lame duck once. Growing up in rural Alberta, my friends and I could be found out on horseback or running around with the other farm animals.  Needless to say, I'm comfortable around ALL creatures.

As a photographer since 2007, I've always kept busy with weddings and portraits. In 2009 I went on to specialize in Pinup/Vintage Boudoir sessions, where me and my all-girl team of professional stylists give women makeovers, but throughout all of my photography career, there has been one constant subject: The Pet.  Photographing pets, either for myself, friends, or rescue shelters, I can't seem to keep myself away from anything with whiskers!

My qualifications include; a certificate in Photography from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, a degree in Humanities from the University of Calgary. I'm a member of WPPI and other local photography clubs and networks. When I'm not processing photos for clients, I attend workshops as I am determined to constantly improve my technical skills.

However, creating images is only a small part of being a professional photographer.  I thrive off of meeting new people, hearing their ideas, desires and suggestions for their photo shoot and keeping busy with all kinds of creative projects. I've been told I bring a relaxed, easy-going energy to photo shoots, and have a talent for making people and animals feel comfortable in front of the camera.

To see what I've been up to lately, you can check out my Blog or "Like" Astoria Photography on Facebook where I often post new favourites and list any upcoming specials or events.

If you have questions about getting professional portraits  for your Pet, don't hesitate to call me at (250) 816-5863 or send an email to: I've also listed some common questions and concerns on the FAQ page.

Looking forward to meeting you and of course, your beloved whiskered friend!
